Osmo wood finishes for interior and exterior use
Osmo is a German manufacturer of high-quality products for protecting, colouring and maintaining wood. Its extensive range includes Polyx-Oil, maintenance products, furniture oil, worktop oil, wood stains, decking oils and protective finishes for both interior and exterior timber.
Osmo oil and wax finishes penetrate the wood while retaining a microporous structure. This preserves the natural character of the timber and allows the surface to continue regulating moisture. With the correct preparation and application, the result is a durable, low-maintenance finish that can usually be renovated locally.
HardwaxStore.nl has specialised in Osmo products for many years and supplies an extensive range for private customers, flooring professionals, painters, furniture makers and other professional users. If you need help choosing a product, colour, preparation method or application system, please contact us for personal advice.

Osmo maintenance for oiled and waxed floors
Correct floor care consists of several different steps. Use a suitable cleaner to remove dirt and everyday marks. Osmo conditioning and maintenance products can then be used as additional treatments to support or restore the existing oil or wax finish.
Popular maintenance products include:
-
Osmo Wash and Care 8016 for additional conditioning and nourishment
-
Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner 3029 Clear for periodically refreshing and conditioning the finish
-
Osmo Maintenance Oil for more intensive renovation of worn oil-finished surfaces
-
Osmo Opti Set for applying cleaning and maintenance products
Also view our specially developed Osmo maintenance plan. It explains which products to use for normal cleaning, additional conditioning and periodic restoration.
You can find the complete selection in our Osmo maintenance products category.
Osmo finishes for furniture, doors and worktops
Osmo also offers specialised finishes for furniture, doors, tables and wooden kitchen worktops.
Always check whether the selected finish is suitable for the timber species and intended application. Prepare a trial area first if you are uncertain about the colour, absorption or final appearance.
Osmo exterior wood products
For decking, garden furniture, cladding, fences, doors and other exterior timber, Osmo offers various cleaning, colouring and protective products.

Use the correct application tools
The quality of brushes, rollers, pads and cloths has a considerable effect on the final result. Most Osmo finishes must be applied very thinly and evenly. An unsuitable general-purpose roller or brush may leave too much product on the surface, resulting in visible marks, uneven sheen or considerably longer drying times.
We therefore recommend using our professional application materials and the rollers, brushes, pads and cloths shown as related products beneath the relevant product pages.
Need help choosing the correct Osmo product?
Not every Osmo finish is suitable for every timber species or application. The correct product depends on factors including:
-
The timber species
-
Interior or exterior use
-
An untreated or previously finished surface
-
The required colour and sheen
-
The expected amount of wear
-
Manual or machine application
-
Private or professional use
HardwaxStore.nl combines an extensive Osmo range with almost 50 years of practical experience in timber, flooring and surface treatment. If you are unsure, please contact us. We will help you select a complete treatment system, including preparation, finishing, maintenance and suitable application materials.
