Osmo Wisch-Fix 8016 conditioning concentrate

Osmo Wisch-Fix 8016 is a concentrated maintenance product for wooden floors and other surfaces finished with oil or wax. Its plant-based soaps and conditioning ingredients support the existing finish and help prevent the timber from developing a dry or neglected appearance.

Wisch-Fix is diluted in water and applied very sparingly. Its main purpose is to care for an existing oil or wax treatment. It cannot replace maintenance wax, maintenance oil or a fresh coat of Polyx-Oil when the original protection has genuinely worn away.

Not a replacement for normal weekly cleaning

The manufacturer describes Wisch-Fix as a cleaning and care product. Based on our practical experience, the benefit of its soaps and conditioning ingredients lies primarily in maintaining and feeding the existing finish.

For normal weekly and hygienic cleaning, we recommend our Eco Multi Cleaner. Use it to remove everyday dirt, light stains and normal signs of use.

Use Wisch-Fix separately when the floor requires conditioning. Never combine both products in the same bucket.

Suitable applications

Wisch-Fix can be used on:

• Oiled wooden floors

• Floors treated with hardwax oil

• Waxed wooden floors

• Oiled or waxed furniture

• Wooden doors

• Wooden wall and ceiling cladding

• Other washable wooden surfaces with a compatible oil or wax finish

When the existing finish is unknown, test the solution on an inconspicuous area first.

What does Wisch-Fix do?

When correctly dosed and used periodically, Wisch-Fix helps keep the existing oil or wax finish in good condition. Its conditioning ingredients reduce the dry feel that can develop when an oiled floor is repeatedly treated with strongly degreasing household cleaners.

Wisch-Fix does not recreate a worn protective finish. Bare timber, severe discolouration or obvious wear requires a suitable maintenance wax, maintenance oil or Polyx-Oil treatment.

Preparation

Remove dust, grit and loose dirt with a soft broom or vacuum cleaner. Sand particles left on the surface may cause scratches during damp maintenance.

If the floor is visibly dirty or greasy, clean it separately with Eco Multi Cleaner and allow it to dry completely. Use Wisch-Fix during a later maintenance treatment.

Use clean water and a clean mop. Residue from another cleaning product may affect the result or create streaks.

Normal dosage

Add approximately 15 ml of Wisch-Fix—one capful—to 2 litres of clean water.

Do not increase the concentration without a specific reason. A stronger solution does not automatically provide better care and may leave residue, streaks or local differences in sheen.

Never mix Wisch-Fix with Eco Multi Cleaner, bleach, washing-up liquid or any other cleaning product.

Manual application

Dip a suitable mop into the diluted solution and wring it out thoroughly. The mop should be damp rather than wet and must not leave pools of water on the floor.

Work evenly in the direction of the floorboards. Remove excess moisture immediately and never allow a wooden floor to remain wet.

Provide good ventilation and allow the floor to dry naturally. Under normal conditions, drying takes approximately 3–5 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity may increase this period.

Do not walk on the floor until it is fully dry.

Machine application

On larger areas, the diluted solution can be applied sparingly and distributed with a suitable single-disc machine such as the Osmo FloorXcenter.

Use an appropriate white pad for light maintenance. Work in small sections and apply the minimum possible quantity of liquid.

Immediately collect loosened dirt and residual moisture with a clean microfibre pad. Do not allow the solution to dry on the timber and never leave pools of liquid behind.

When is additional maintenance required?

Wisch-Fix is designed for regular conditioning but cannot repair a damaged protective finish.

Use Osmo Liquid Maintenance Wax 3029 on local dull areas and light wear.

Liquid Maintenance Wax White 3087 may be more suitable for white or lightly pigmented finishes. Always test it first.

If the timber has become exposed, apply an appropriate new coat of Polyx-Oil. Clean and prepare the floor correctly before starting the repair.

Practical maintenance routine

As a general practical guide, we recommend:

• Vacuuming or dry mopping regularly

• Cleaning weekly, or as required, with Eco Multi Cleaner

• Using Wisch-Fix separately when the finish needs conditioning

• Treating dull or lightly worn areas promptly with maintenance wax

• Repairing damaged oil protection before the timber becomes bare

The required frequency depends on the household, room use, pets, footwear and the amount of grit carried onto the floor.
