Osmo FloorXcenter floor machine

The Osmo FloorXcenter is a professional eccentric single-disc machine for cleaning, maintaining, refreshing and renovating oiled wooden floors.

It can also be used to distribute and buff suitable maintenance oil, hardwax oil, maintenance wax, oil stain and coloured floor oil. By selecting the correct pad, one machine can perform a wide range of floor-maintenance tasks.

Its eccentric movement makes the FloorXcenter easy to control and helps distribute products evenly across the floor. The machine is suitable for intensive domestic and professional use but is intended exclusively for indoor use.

Important: pads are sold separately

Loose pads are no longer included with the current Osmo FloorXcenter package.

The machine is supplied with its pad driver and dosing bottle. White, red and green pads, the microfibre disc, wool pads and brushing ring must be ordered separately when required.

Choosing the correct pad

The correct pad depends on the product, existing floor finish and required treatment.

• White pad: very fine; for buffing, polishing, distributing maintenance products and working in various oil finishes

• Beige pad: fine; for evenly working oils and waxes into the surface

• Red pad: stronger; for stubborn dirt, keying and specific intermediate treatments

• Green pad: for specific oil applications or stronger cleaning when permitted by the product instructions

• Microfibre disc: for absorbing loosened dirt and moisture

• Wool pad: for dry buffing and polishing

• Brushing ring: for deeper cleaning and treating structured surfaces

Pad colour only indicates its general structure and abrasiveness. Always check that the selected pad is suitable for the specific product and floor.

A pad that is too aggressive may cause scratches, bare areas or uneven gloss. Test on an inconspicuous area first.

Normal weekly cleaning

Use Eco Multi Cleaner for normal weekly removal of dirt and signs of use.

Fit a suitable microfibre disc and always work with the smallest possible amount of moisture. Never soak a wooden floor or leave puddles on the surface.

Only use a low-foaming product that is suitable for the floor and machine application. Do not automatically fill the dosing bottle with every cleaning or maintenance product.

Additional care with Wisch-Fix

Use Osmo Wisch-Fix 8016 as an additional care treatment when an oiled or waxed floor requires nourishment and conditioning.

Within the HardwaxStore maintenance system, Wisch-Fix is not a replacement for normal weekly cleaning with Eco Multi Cleaner. Use the products separately and never mix them.

Dilute Wisch-Fix according to its instructions and avoid excessive moisture.

Refreshing with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner

Dull or slightly worn oil and hardwax-oil surfaces can be refreshed with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner.

Apply the maintenance wax very thinly to the floor. Never pour Liquid Wax Cleaner into the FloorXcenter dosing bottle, as this may block the dispensing system.

Distribute and massage the product evenly with a white pad. If streaks or visible machine marks appear, too much product has probably been applied. Turn the pad over or replace it with a clean pad.

For additional gloss, polish the dry surface afterwards with a new white or wool pad.

Applying maintenance oil or hardwax oil

Clean the floor thoroughly and allow it to dry completely. Apply the prescribed amount of maintenance oil or hardwax oil very thinly with the recommended applicator.

Use the FloorXcenter with the prescribed pad to work the oil evenly into the surface and remove excess material.

Work in manageable sections and do not allow the product to dry before it has been distributed. No wet or thick oil film should remain after buffing.

Pads and cloths saturated with oil may spontaneously ignite. Spread them out flat outdoors to dry completely or handle them according to the product’s safety instructions.

Applying coloured oils and oil stains

The FloorXcenter can be used to level and work in suitable coloured oils, oil stains and professional colour oils.

First apply the product very thinly using the specified applicator, such as a scraper, roller or floor brush. Then distribute and level the colour with the FloorXcenter and prescribed pad.

Coloured finishes may show streaks, application marks or colour variations if too much product is used or the floor has not been evenly sanded. Always prepare a test area first.

When the colour system requires a clear finishing coat, apply it separately after the coloured treatment has dried completely.

Using the dosing bottle

The dosing bottle enables a suitable diluted cleaning solution to be dispensed in a controlled manner in front of the machine.

Only use low-foaming, non-flammable cleaners suitable for both the floor and machine application. Follow the cleaner’s prescribed mixing ratio.

Dispense only a small amount at a time. Excess liquid may penetrate the wood and cause permanent damage, swelling or discolouration.

For intensive cleaning, work in sections of approximately 10 m². Immediately absorb loosened dirt and moisture with a clean microfibre disc. Never allow dirty water to dry on the floor.

Never fill the dosing bottle with oil, hardwax oil, maintenance wax or solvent-based products.

Operating the FloorXcenter

Read the complete operating instructions before first use.

Fit the selected pad or brushing ring while the machine is switched off and unplugged. Check that the accessory is flat and correctly centred.

Hold the machine with both hands when starting. Guide the FloorXcenter calmly and evenly across the floor and do not allow it to operate in one position for an extended period.

Stop the drive immediately whenever the machine is stationary. This prevents damage or excessive stress to the floor.

Never run over the electrical cable. Do not use the machine on stairs, public roads, outdoor surfaces or slopes exceeding 2%.

Maintenance and storage

Switch the machine off and unplug it before removing accessories, cleaning the machine or carrying out maintenance.

Remove used pads and brushing rings immediately after work. Never leave the FloorXcenter standing on a fitted pad, microfibre disc or brushing ring. The machine’s weight may deform the accessory and prevent it from working evenly next time.

Clean the machine with a slightly damp cloth only. Inspect the electrical cable regularly and do not use the machine if its cable, plug or housing is damaged.

Repairs must only be carried out by an authorised and qualified service technician.
