The Floorservice Floorboy XL450 is a powerful eccentric single-disc machine for intensive floor maintenance. It is suitable for cleaning, oiling, buffing and lightly polishing wooden floors, natural stone, tiles, designer flooring and other hard floor surfaces.

Weighing approximately 17.2 kg, the XL450 is heavier than the Floorboy XL300. Its additional weight creates more working pressure, helping maintenance oil, hardwax oil and maintenance wax to be worked powerfully and evenly into the surface.

The eccentric movement makes the Floorboy XL450 stable and easy to control. It is suitable for experienced domestic users, semi-professional applications, businesses and equipment rental.

Difference between the Floorboy XL300 and XL450

The Floorboy XL300 weighs approximately 13.9 kg and is primarily intended for normal domestic floor maintenance.

The Floorboy XL450 weighs approximately 17.2 kg and therefore applies more pressure to the surface. This makes it more suitable for regular or intensive maintenance, larger floors, semi-professional use and rental.

The XL450 can also be fitted with a liquid tank. Combined with the special scrubbing brush, this allows intensive wet cleaning of heavily soiled, water-resistant hard floors.

Choosing the correct pad

Select the pad according to the required result, maintenance product and sensitivity of the floor.

• White pad: very fine; for dry buffing and light polishing

• Beige pad: fine; for working oils and maintenance products evenly into the surface

• Red pad: slightly stronger; for applying products, keying and light cleaning

• Green pad: for intensive cleaning of suitable hard floors

• Black pad: coarse; only for heavy cleaning and stripping resistant surfaces

• Microfibre pad: for damp cleaning suitable floors

• Wool pad: for dry polishing and buffing

• Mesh sanding disc: for light sanding or keying when permitted by the floor-treatment system

The pad driver has a diameter of approximately 300 mm. Our heavy-duty 13-inch pads measure approximately 33 cm and extend slightly beyond the pad driver, helping protect its edge while working.

Always test on an inconspicuous area first. A pad or abrasive that is too coarse can cause scratches, damage or unwanted variations in gloss.

Optional brushes

The buffing brush is suitable for general buffing work and applying or polishing compatible maintenance products.

The stiff nylon scrubbing brush is intended for stronger cleaning of tiles, concrete, flagstones, stone, natural stone and suitable resilient floor surfaces.

Do not use the stiff scrubbing brush on parquet, lacquered flooring, soft floors or scratch-sensitive surfaces without first checking suitability.

Optional liquid tank

The Floorboy XL450 can be fitted with an optional liquid tank with a capacity of approximately two litres. This allows a suitable cleaning solution to be dispensed in front of the machine during use.

Only use the liquid tank for wet cleaning floors that are resistant to water. Never soak wooden flooring and do not leave puddles or excessive moisture on parquet or other moisture-sensitive floors.

Only use cleaning products suitable for the machine and the floor. Never mix different cleaning products together.

Applying maintenance oil

Always read the instructions supplied with the selected maintenance oil before application.

Apply the prescribed quantity of oil thinly and evenly. Fit a suitable beige or red pad and work the oil calmly and evenly into the wood. Work in manageable sections.

Remove all excess oil within the specified working time using a clean pad and suitable cotton cloths. No wet or thick oil film should remain on the surface.

Warning: pads and cloths saturated with oil may spontaneously ignite. Spread them out flat outdoors to dry completely or store and dispose of them in accordance with the instructions supplied with the oil.

Operating the Floorboy XL450

Fit the required pad driver, pad or brush while the machine is unplugged. Make sure the accessory is flat and correctly centred.

Check that the switch is in the 0/off position before connecting the plug. Hold the handle with both hands and use the foot pedal to move it into a comfortable working position.

Guide the machine evenly backwards and forwards. Do not allow it to operate in one position for an extended period and never run over the electrical cable.

If the machine vibrates or jumps excessively, switch it off immediately and check whether the pad, brush or pad driver has been mounted correctly.

Care and storage

Switch the machine off and unplug it before removing accessories or carrying out maintenance.

Remove used pads and brushes after every treatment. Clean the accessories according to their instructions and allow them to dry completely.

Do not store the machine resting on a fitted pad, pad driver or brush, as this may deform the accessory and cause the machine to jump during its next use.

Clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth only. Never rinse the machine with water and always store it in a dry location out of reach of children.
