Touch up minor damage where it occurs

A small damaged area on an oiled floor or table does not always require the entire surface to be refinished. Osmo Polyx-Oil Care and Repair Paste 3080 allows you to maintain and touch up the finish locally.

The clear paste combines plant oils and waxes. Apply it thinly with a lint-free cloth to concentrate the treatment on the area that needs attention.

Where can it be used?

For maintenance and minor repairs to wooden surfaces finished with hardwax oil, including:

• Wooden floors and parquet.

• Wooden stair treads.

• Tables, desks and other furniture.

• Solid and laminated timber worktops.

• Suitable OSB and cork flooring.

This product is intended for indoor use. Check compatibility before treating an unfamiliar finish.

What result can you expect?

The paste replenishes the oil and wax finish locally, helping restore protection against moisture and dirt. It also enhances the natural colour of the wood.

A clear finish can still change the appearance. The wood may look warmer or darker, and the sheen may differ from the surrounding surface. Always test an inconspicuous area first.

Deep scratches, missing wood and larger holes require appropriate preparation or filling. This oil and wax paste does not replace a wood filler.

How to apply the repair paste

1. Clean and dry the area. Remove dust, grease and other contamination.

2. Check the wood. Carefully smooth raised fibres or prepare damaged areas where necessary.

3. Apply a thin coat. Spread a small amount along the wood grain using a lint-free cloth.

4. Allow it to dry. Provide good ventilation throughout drying.

5. Check the result. Repeat if needed, allowing each application to dry and following the product instructions.

Heavy application slows drying. Keep the treatment thin and even.

Drying time and coverage

• Drying time: approximately 8–10 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.

• Coverage: approximately 2–3 m² per 75 g tube with one application on bare wood.

Lower temperatures, higher humidity and insufficient ventilation can extend drying. Actual coverage depends on the surface and the amount applied.

Care after repairing

For normal weekly hygienic cleaning, we recommend Eco Multi Cleaner. Allow the repair treatment to dry sufficiently first and follow the care instructions for the finish.

Use the repair paste when local maintenance is needed, adjusting further care to the condition of the wood.

Safe handling

Cloths containing this product can self-ignite. Wash used cloths out immediately or store them in an airtight container as instructed in the safety data sheet. Do not leave them crumpled together.

Work in a well-ventilated area, avoid contact with eyes and skin, and keep the product out of reach of children. Wear suitable respiratory protection when sanding.
