Wooden stair care kit – with Wash and Care, Maintenance Oil and accessories

Keep your oiled wooden stairs looking cared for

Daily foot traffic gradually affects a wooden staircase. The finish may begin to look dull, particularly along the most frequently used parts of each tread. The Osmo Stair Care Box brings together care products and practical accessories for periodic maintenance of suitable stairs.

The kit is designed for wooden stairs finished with Osmo Polyx-Oil or Spray-Wax. Timely maintenance of an intact finish can usually be carried out without sanding the entire staircase back to bare wood.

What is included?

• 250 ml Wash and Care: care concentrate for oiled and waxed wooden surfaces.

• 200 ml Maintenance Oil: for refreshing and maintaining the existing oil and wax finish.

• Two application cloths: for applying and distributing product by hand.

• One maintenance pad: use as directed in the enclosed instructions.

• Stair care instructions.

Weekly cleaning and periodic care

For normal weekly hygienic cleaning, we recommend Eco Multi Cleaner. This is purchased separately and is not included in the box.

Use the supplied Wash and Care for additional care between maintenance treatments. Its natural oil-based soaps help prevent the surface from drying out during damp cleaning.

Maintenance Oil is intended for occasions when the existing finish needs refreshing. Adjust the maintenance schedule to the condition of your stairs and the amount of use they receive.

How to maintain your stairs

1. Remove dust and grit. Clean the corners and edges of each tread as well.

2. Clean the staircase. Use a suitable cleaner and work with a damp cloth or mop. Allow the wood to dry completely before applying Maintenance Oil.

3. Test a small area. Check the result on an inconspicuous part of the existing finish.

4. Apply Maintenance Oil thinly. Follow the instructions for the supplied version and remove excess product.

5. Allow the finish to dry. Ventilate well and observe the stated drying time before using the staircase again.

Use the products separately and always follow their labels and the enclosed care instructions.

When is further restoration needed?

This kit is intended to maintain a suitable existing finish. Deep damage, areas worn through to bare wood and greyed surfaces may require sanding and a fresh finish.

Check compatibility before using the kit on an unknown or varnished surface.

Important when using Maintenance Oil

Cloths soaked with Maintenance Oil can self-ignite. Wash used cloths out immediately or store them in an airtight container as instructed in the safety data sheet. Do not leave them crumpled together.

Work in a well-ventilated area, avoid contact with eyes and skin, and keep the products out of reach of children.
